The ground floor is nearly complete

They continue to frame the house in rapid fashion.  The ground floor is nearly complete.  It is funny though, the house feels so small compared to what the house actually feels like in a finished state.  Even the yard seems small at this point, but I look at the other homes on smaller lots & know once the house is done it won't feel quite so small.  Here's what the house looked like last night (thank goodness for light at 9:15pm!)

House Progress - going up

The house is no longer just a foundation....they are framing now!  We have a bottom floor (well, some of it) as of this morning.  I'm eager to go back tonight to see the progress from today.  It will be completely framed in 3 weeks.  Here's a few progress pictures since the last post:

San Antonio trip

It was so good to get out & see Darren in Texas this past week.  I don't get to see him often enough & we tend to expect him to visit us rather than the reverse due to his hectic work schedule.  When I found out D was going to be static for a week, I jumped at the chance to run down to see him.  We had fun, even though his schedule & home were turned upside down on account of Shannon!

U2 Concert - June 4, 2011

Tom & I went to the "make up" U2 show last night...it was supposed to have been June 20, 2010...but it was postponed.  Worked out for the best, I think we'd have been a little freaked out leaving Shannon at all of 2 months at home while we rocked out at a concert.

They have started the house!  The foundation was dug yesterday (on Shannon's 13 month birthday).
